Cast a real cast

Build persistent AI characters with consistent faces, looks, and personalities. Bring them back into every scene, every story, every take.

Direct every scene

Write what your character says and does. Pick the shot, the angle, the mood. Storyboard scene by scene — your direction, your dialogue, your cut.

Hear them speak

Voice-acted dialogue, lip-synced delivery, and conversational scenes between your characters. Speak a line, type a line, or hand them a script.

Perform on screen

Cinematic AI video with realistic motion, lighting, and emotion. Photo, scene, story, or a full short film — share to TikTok, IG, X, anywhere.

Voice & dialogue

Characters who speak for themselves.

charactr is built around one idea: an AI character isn't a chat box. It's a performer. So we built voice, dialogue, and conversational scenes into the core of the studio.

  • 01

    Voice-acted dialogue

Every character carries a voice. Type a line or speak it — your character delivers it, with timing, tone, and emotion you can re-direct take after take.

  • 02

    Multi-character scenes

Put two or more characters in a scene and let them play it. Conversational interactions, on-screen reactions, dialogue that runs without a chat window.

  • 03

    Voice-driven direction

Speak your scene direction. charactr's voice recognition and speech-to-text turn your spoken notes into shots, beats, and lines your cast performs.

  • 04

    Conversational character interactions

Build characters who can converse, react, and respond — inside scenes you direct, not endless companion chats. The conversation is on the screen, not in a thread.

Scenes

From a line of script
to a scene that speaks.

A taste of what your cast can perform. Every scene starts with a prompt, a line, or a script — and ends as a cinematic AI video with voice, dialogue, and direction.

FAQ

Questions, asked
and answered.

Is charactr really free?

Yes. The app is free to download on iOS. No ads. No subscription wall on day one. You can cast characters, direct scenes, and generate AI films right away.

Can my characters actually talk?

Yes — that's the point. Every character has a voice. Type a line or speak it, and your character delivers it with timing, tone, and lip-synced performance. Voice-acted dialogue, multi-character scenes, and conversational interactions are first-class capabilities of the studio.

Do I own my characters and scenes?

You own the characters you create and the scenes you direct, subject to our terms. We never sell your characters or train foundation models on your private content. You can export your scenes and share them anywhere — TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, or your own roll.

Is this a chatbot or a companion app?

charactr is a film studio for talking AI characters, not a companion app. Every character carries voice, dialogue, and the ability to converse and react — but the conversation lives on screen, in scenes you direct, not in an endless chat thread. You're the director. They're the cast.

How do I direct a scene?

Three ways. Type a prompt and pick a character. Write a script with character lines. Or speak your direction — charactr's voice recognition turns spoken notes into shots, beats, and dialogue your cast performs.

What's an Android version look like?

iOS first. Android is on the roadmap. If you want to be first in line, drop your email in the App Store reviews or follow us on X.

How is this different from other AI character apps?

Other AI character apps optimize for endless 1-on-1 chat sessions. charactr's AI characters carry voice, dialogue, and conversational capabilities — but channeled into scenes, films, and stories you direct. The output is a film, a scene, a performance — not a chat log.

Outputs generated with charactr are AI-generated and clearly labeled in-app and on share. Characters depicted on this page are fictional. charactr discloses every third-party AI model and voice provider used to generate your content, in line with Apple's Guideline 5.1.2(i) and the EU AI Act Article 50.
